EXPERIENCE
17 Years

I don't just help students get organized — I help them understand themselves as learners, so the skills they build last long after our work together ends.

WHAT I OFFER

Services tailored to
every student's needs

All sessions are one-on-one, conducted in person in Manhattan or remotely via Zoom. I work with students in grades 5 through college, globally.

01

Executive Functioning Skills Coaching

For students who struggle with focus, organization, time management, follow-through, working memory, task initiation, mental flexibility, or gratification delay — often including those with ADHD, anxiety, or learning differences. We build practical systems and skills that work with each student's unique brain.

ADHD SUPPORT | ORGANIZATION | TIME MANAGEMENT | SELF-REGULATION | TASK INITIATION

HOW I WORK

Whole-student support, not just homework help

I work one-on-one with students in grades 5 through college — many with ADHD and learning differences — to build the skills, confidence, and habits they need to thrive academically and in life. With 17+ years of experience, I bring deep expertise to every session.

Relationship First

I build trust before building skills. Students open up, take risks, and grow faster when they feel genuinely understood.

Skills That Transfer

The goal is independence — not dependence on me. Every strategy I teach is designed to eventually run on its own.

Wellness Integration

Breathing, regulation, and stress management tools are available as needed — not as an add-on, but as a natural part of the work.

Team Approach

I collaborate with parents, therapists, and schools — coordinating care rather than working in isolation.

MY FRAMEWORK

The RISE Method

R

REGULATE

Ground the nervous system first. Calm and focused is the starting point for everything else.

S

SUSTAIN

Build momentum and follow-through across tasks, projects, and the demands of daily school life.

I

INITIATE

Break through the barrier of getting started — one of the hardest challenges for students with ADHD.

E

EXPAND

Grow capacity over time — applying skills across subjects, relationships, and into the demands of adult life.

ABOUT HEIDI

A coach who sees the
whole student

My students arrive with a story they've been telling themselves for too long: that they're bad at school, that writing isn't for them, that they'll never be organized, that tests just don't go their way. My job — the part I find endlessly interesting — is figuring out exactly where that story started, and rewriting it.

Some of my most satisfying work has been with students who swore they hated math, until we found the entry point that made it click. Or the student who froze every time she had to write a paper, until she discovered she actually had a lot to say — she just needed a different way in. College application essays are some of my favorites: there is always a real person in there with something worth saying, and helping a student find that voice, and trust it, is genuinely rewarding work.

I approach every student like a puzzle worth solving. Where are the gaps? What's been misunderstood or missed entirely? And equally — where is this person already sharp, already engaged, already curious? That's the thread I pull. I use what a student knows and loves as the bridge to what they haven't learned yet, because that's where real understanding takes hold rather than just surface memorization.

The organizational piece is quieter but just as transformative. When a student who has never once handed something in on time starts meeting deadlines — not because someone is standing over them, but because they finally have a system that fits how they actually think — that's a different kind of confidence. It spreads.

I pay close attention in sessions. Not just to what a student tells me, but to where they go quiet, where they rush, where they light up. That information is just as useful as anything in a textbook.

My work blends executive function coaching, academic tutoring, and health coaching — three areas that might seem different but are part of the same picture: helping you understand how your own brain works, and helping you manage learning and life without feeling completely overwhelmed.

AS AN EXECUTIVE FUNCTION COACH

I help students and professionals tackle organization, time management, task initiation, and attentional control — the skills that turn "I'll do it later" into "Done!" without the last-minute panic.

AS AN ACADEMIC TUTOR

I take those same executive function skills and apply them to reading, writing, and critical thinking. Because knowing what to do is one thing — actually getting it done (and making it good) is another.

AS A NATIONALLY CERTIFIED (NBHWC) HEALTH COACH

I focus on stress management, self-acceptance, and sustainable habits. If your brain is running on fumes, your work and sanity will suffer. Through mindfulness, wellness strategies, and my background as a meditation leader, I help clients create healthy routines that support their goals instead of working against them.
